Seeed Studio 2-Channel CAN-BUS(FD) Shield for Raspberry Pi is designed to support the CAN FD protocol and transmission speeds of up to 8Mbps. The CAN FD (Flexible Data-Rate) protocol increases the CAN’s transmission rate, improves real-time performance and provides higher efficiency by extending user data frames. This shield is based on the MCP2517 CAN FD controller and MCP2557 CAN FD transceiver that uses the high-speed SPI interface to communicate with the Raspberry Pi. The 2-Channel CAN-BUS(FD) shield uses an onboard 120Ω resistor and its enable switch to toggle the resistor on and off to avoid reflection.
